A useful PRP consultation starts with your diagnosis and goals. Our magazine’s PRP guide encourages patients to understand the whole plan, from evaluation to rehabilitation. Here are questions to bring to a visit in Orlando or Winter Park.
What is PRP, and why consider it for my condition?
Platelet-rich plasma is prepared from a sample of your blood, processed to concentrate platelets, and injected at a selected site. Evidence varies by condition and preparation. It is not a guaranteed cure or a substitute for an accurate diagnosis. Ask how the evidence applies to you and how PRP compares with rehabilitation or other options.
What should I share before treatment?
Bring a medication list, relevant imaging, and details of previous injections and health conditions. Ask about your individual risks, including temporary pain, infection, and injury to nearby tissues. Do not stop prescribed medicines without guidance from the treating clinician.
What happens afterward?
Ask for written instructions about activity, rehabilitation, follow-up, and symptoms that should prompt a call. Choose practical goals, such as walking farther or reaching more comfortably. Ask when progress will be reviewed and what happens if treatment does not help.
What will it cost?
Request the complete price and confirm coverage with your insurer before proceeding. Ask whether follow-up and rehabilitation are included.
